Flame-Resistant Cotton Welding Hood with Neck Coverage MS-303O
Product Overview
Protection Beyond the Edge of the Welding Helmet
A welding helmet protects the face and eyes—but sparks do not always stop at the helmet shell.
During overhead welding, fabrication and out-of-position work, hot particles can travel toward the ears, hairline, neck and collar opening. This flame-resistant welding hood is designed to help cover those exposed areas while working together with professional welding headgear.
The extended fabric construction surrounds the head and continues downward toward the neck, creating an additional protective layer between the welder and sparks, spatter and incidental heat exposure.
More Coverage Than a Welding Cap
A traditional welding cap is compact and primarily designed for comfort underneath a helmet.
An FR welding hood serves a different purpose.
By extending around the ears and neck, the hood provides broader coverage where a conventional welding cap leaves gaps. The lower section can overlap with welding jackets or other protective clothing, helping create a more continuous PPE system around the head-to-collar transition.
This makes the hood particularly useful for welding positions where sparks may fall from above or approach from changing directions.
Made to Work with Welding Headgear
Protection is only useful when it does not interfere with the job.
The hood is designed with a flexible profile that can be worn comfortably with welding helmets and related headgear. Its soft fabric construction follows head movement naturally and avoids the rigid bulk associated with conventional caps or external covers.
Depending on the selected configuration, fastening or helmet-attachment features can also be incorporated to help keep the hood correctly positioned during repeated helmet lifting and lowering.

Designed for Changing Welding Positions
A welder's exposure changes with the job.
When welding at a bench, most sparks may travel downward. During structural, maintenance or overhead welding, however, the direction of sparks and spatter becomes much less predictable.
The extended shape of the welding helmet hood helps address these changing exposure angles by protecting areas around the head and neck that are difficult to cover with a welding jacket alone.
It is a simple addition to a welding PPE system, but one that solves a very specific coverage gap.
Best For
Suitable for:
MIG / MAG welding
Stick / SMAW welding
TIG welding

Industrial hot-work environments
Fabric & Performance
Premium protective leathers including split cowhide, top-grain cowhide, top-grain goatskin, pigskin, and water-resistant leather, selected for the ideal balance of heat and spark resistance, durability, flexibility, and all-day comfort in demanding work environments.
Applications
For welding PPE distributors, industrial safety suppliers and private-label brands, the hood can be developed around different end-user requirements.
Customization options can include flame-resistant fabric type and weight, hood length, neck and shoulder coverage, face opening, closure construction, helmet attachment points, lining, color, sizing, logo application, labels and packaging.
Longer versions can also be developed for projects requiring increased overlap with welding jackets or other protective garments.
This makes the FR welding hood a practical addition to complete welding protective clothing programs—especially where customers need more coverage than a welding cap can provide without moving to a heavier leather welding hood.
